Join our fast-paced warehouse in Chicago, Illinois, as a Picker/Packer! This is a crucial role in our order fulfillment process, ensuring that our customers receive their products accurately and efficiently. You will be responsible for picking items from warehouse shelves, packing them securely, and preparing them for shipment. Success in this role requires speed, accuracy, and a keen eye for detail. You will be working with various products and utilizing scanning technology. Safety is paramount, and strict adherence to all safety guidelines, including the mandatory use of PPE, is expected. This role is fundamental to our logistics operations.Responsibilities:
- Accurately picking items for customer orders using RF scanners or pick lists.
- Packing orders carefully and efficiently to prevent damage during transit.
- Verifying order contents against documentation before packing.
- Meeting established productivity and quality standards for picking and packing.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work station.
- Identifying and reporting any discrepancies, damages, or stock issues.
- Loading and unloading materials as needed, utilizing safe lifting practices.
- Following all company safety regulations and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Operating pallet jacks and other basic material handling equipment safely.
- Assisting with inventory cycle counts and stock replenishment.
- Contributing to the overall success of our logistics team.
- Ensuring all outgoing shipments are accurately processed and labeled.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, order picking, or packing role is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand order tickets and product information.
- Comfortable using RF scanning devices and other warehouse technology.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Physical capacity to stand, walk, reach, bend, and perform lifting tasks (up to 50 lbs) throughout the shift.
- Willingness to strictly follow safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
- Strong sense of teamwork and good communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude.
