Join our dynamic team in Detroit, Michigan as a Material Handler! We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to manage the movement of materials within our warehouse facility. This role is crucial to our daily operations, ensuring that products are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently. You will be responsible for operating various equipment to transport goods, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring a clean and organized work environment. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Move materials to and from storage areas, production areas, and shipping docks.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against appropriate documentation.
- Maintain inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with housekeeping and general warehouse upkeep to ensure a safe and organized environment.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment malfunctions.
- Support shipping and receiving teams as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all lifting requirements and safe manual handling techniques.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment (certification may be required for some roles).
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform heavy lifting and repetitive tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Commitment to safety and a proactive approach to hazard identification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety shoes, vests, and gloves as needed.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
