We are seeking an efficient and detail-oriented Order Picker to join our busy fulfillment center in Baltimore, Maryland. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately selecting and preparing customer orders for shipment. Your primary duties will involve using a picking system (such as RF scanners or pick lists) to locate items within the warehouse, ensuring the correct quantities and product types are gathered. You will also be responsible for carefully staging picked items for packing and shipping, contributing to the overall speed and accuracy of our logistics operations. A strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment is essential; adherence to all safety guidelines and the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. This role requires you to be on your feet for extended periods and involves moderate lifting and manual dexterity. You will work collaboratively with the packing and shipping teams to ensure a seamless workflow. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick customer orders using pick lists or RF scanners.
- Verify item numbers and quantities against order details.
- Stage picked items in designated areas for packing.
- Repack or consolidate items as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock checks.
- Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding order status.
- Follow all logistics and operational procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an order picker or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners.
- Ability to perform lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of safety protocols in a warehouse setting.
- Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods.
