About
Responsibilities:
- Create physical database designs and operates and administers the database management system (DBMS) including database optimization, capacity planning, installation and migration, database design, performance tuning, backup and recovery.
- Monitor and enforce database rules.
- Use information retrieval packages and be proficient in query languages.
- Research and implement cyber security vulnerability remediations.
- Be aware of emerging IT trends and directions.
- The resource will also support CSC release and infrastructure solutions support sustainment activities, urgent priorities, changing needs, or time-sensitive infrastructure upgrades, or other sustainment activities supporting any CSC platforms overseen by the Cluster where annual work is required.
Requirements
Experience and Skill Set Requirements:
Must Haves:
- Experience with one or more database technologies
- Proficiency with SQL and experience writing SQL scripts
- Experience designing data architecture for new databases
- Experience in developing documentation on data standardization and requirements
- Subject matter expert in database design of data warehouse or data marts.
Skill Set Requirements:
Database Skills:
- Experience with one or more database technologies

OPS Experience:
- Previous public sector experience in an organization of equivalent size and complexity to the Ontario Public Service.
