My website is built on WordPress using Elementor, so everything must integrate seamlessly with Elementor and match my existing design style.
The goal is to create a streamlined, user-friendly directory system that allows related businesses to submit their own listings, while keeping the backend simple and primarily using free or lightweight tools.
I am NOT looking for an over-engineered custom platform.
PROJECT SCOPE
Automated Resource Directory (Front-End Submission)
Create a front-end submission system where businesses can submit their listings.
Publicly Displayed Fields:
Business Name
Website URL
Short Business Description
Brick & Mortar Location (City + State)
AND/OR (for on-site providers)
Home Base Location (City + State) + Service Radius (Miles) + Drive Time Radius
Admin-Only Fields (NOT Publicly Displayed):
Company Point Person Name
Phone Number
Email Address
Facebook Link
Instagram Link
Requirements:
Admin approval before listings go live
Spam protection (captcha or similar)
Clean, modern Elementor-compatible layout
Mobile responsive
Search and/or filter functionality
Category & subcategory filtering
Category Structure Setup
The directory must support:
9 Main Categories
43 Subcategories
This may require:
Custom Post Type setup
Custom taxonomies
Or an Elementor-compatible directory plugin
The system must:
Make it easy to assign listings to categories/subcategories
Allow visitors to browse and filter by category
Be simple for me to manage long-term
Amendments to Existing Directory Page Templates
I would like:
Minor improvements to current directory showcase pages
Cleaner layout and visual hierarchy
Improved organization
Possible refinement of filtering display
All changes must remain consistent with the existing Elementor design.
Blog Page Template Creation (Elementor)
I need:
A clean blog page template created in Elementor
Proper blog category structure
SEO-friendly formatting for long-form posts
And most importantly:
Step-by-step written instructions (or short Loom walkthrough) explaining:
How to create a blog post
How to categorize it
How to optimize it
How to publish it
I want to feel confident managing this myself after setup.
Important
Upon application, I will send you the URL to the current (non-working) directory setup so you can review it and determine the best, simplest approach for getting this done properly.
Technical Requirements
Strong WordPress + Elementor experience
Experience building directory or listing sites
Comfortable with custom post types and taxonomies
Clean, lightweight implementation
No bloated directory themes
Clear documentation at handoff
