About
This system will be used on an active construction site and must be reliable, structured and scalable.
Develop a QR-based safety observation system that allows site personnel to:
Scan a QR code displayed around site
Complete a digital safety observation form
Automatically route the observation to the correct action owner
Track progress to close-out
Notify the originator when the issue is resolved
Provide a live dashboard for management oversight
The system should be built within Microsoft 365 (Power Platform preferred).
The solution should include:
QR code linked to a reporting interface (Microsoft Forms or Power Apps – open to recommendation)
Automated workflow using Power Automate
Conditional routing to designated recipients
Email and/or Teams notifications
Status tracking (Open / In Progress / Closed)
Close-out response sent back to originator
Management dashboard (Power BI or similar)
Secure internal data storage (SharePoint or equivalent)
Role-based access where appropriate
This is for a live construction project. Simplicity, clarity and reliability are more important than complex design.
We are not looking for a custom-coded application. The solution should sit within the Microsoft ecosystem and be maintainable internally after handover.
What We're Looking For
Strong experience with Power Automate
Experience building structured workflows
SharePoint list configuration
Power Apps (optional but desirable)
Power BI dashboard development
Understanding of structured reporting systems
Ability to propose practical improvements
Engagement Structure
Initial engagement will be to:
Design the architecture
Build the first working version
Test and refine
Provide handover documentation
There is potential for further development work following this initial phase.
