Job Description: The Nurse Practitioner is an advanced practice nurse with knowledge and skills gained through advanced academic preparation and experience. The Nurse Practitioner practices by blending an in-depth knowledge of advanced nursing practice with the legal authority and autonomy as outlined in legislation, regulation, CRNS Bylaws, regulatory requirements, and best practices. The Nurse Practitioner will provide care and services at the Urgent Care Centre within their full scope of practice and competencies for clients both independently and collaboratively with a physician(s) and the healthcare team. As health care professionals, they participate in self and peer review to evaluate the outcome of their services at the patient, community, and population level.
Human Resources Exemption: No
Experience
- 3 years experience as a RN in critical care, ER, acute care or primary care.
- 1 year full time experience working as a Nurse Practitioner.
Education
- Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (MN-NP)
- or Post-Graduate Practitioner Certificate is required
Licenses
- Registered Nurse Practitioner (RN(NP))
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
Other Education and Training
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support Level C Certificate (BLS-C)

Other Information
- Previous experience working w/i community setting w/ Indigenous clients an asset
- Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
