Conservation Technician - Wetland Restoration and Natural Infrastructure (CPRO Team)
Position Details: Full Time, Fixed Term (approx. May – Aug)
Salary: Salary range between $18-$21, based on a 35-hour work week. Salary for this position will commensurate with each individual's education and/or experience as it relates to the position.

What You Will Do
DUC is looking for a restoration intern to support its consulting services team, Conservation PRO. In this position, you will be able to contribute directly to the advancement of various flagship DUC projects such as the Nature Force initiative, as well as restoration and offset projects in Quebec.
The Conservation PRO team carries out several restoration and conservation projects with public and private partners throughout Quebec. These various projects make it possible to concretely promote best practices in partnership with local stakeholders. These projects can take many forms: compensation projects, fish habitat restoration, watercourse restoration, naturalization of stormwater management systems, implementation of flow management structures, etc.
You will be called upon to take charge of various stages of projects. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborating on the design of projects at potential sites;
- Approaching local partners, prospecting sites and canvassing landowners;
- Coordinating and carrying out characterization and data acquisition activities in the field;
- Participating in fundraising efforts, drafting financial assistance applications and service proposals;
- Assisting with contract management and budget monitoring;
- Carrying out various catering activities as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a field related to the environment, civil engineering, water engineering, agronomy, water sciences, etc. A master's degree is an asset.
- Strong interest in environmental protection and the restoration of degraded environments.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, autonomy and a sense of responsibility.
- Knowledge of the agricultural sector and/or environmental regulations is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work with GIS (ESRI) is an asset.
- Ability to communicate in English, an asset.

- Project management skills.
- Knowledge of engineering project workflows.
- Good priority management skills.
- Ability and interest in working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Desire to learn and step outside your comfort zone.
