About
We are looking for a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our team in Durham, North Carolina. In this crucial role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring accurate recording and processing of all deliveries. Your responsibilities will include verifying shipments against purchase orders, inspecting goods for damage, and properly documenting all receiving activities. This position is fundamental to our logistics chain, requiring diligence and accuracy to maintain inventory integrity. A focus on safety and efficiency is paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming freight from various carriers.
- Verify the accuracy of shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect all incoming goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Document all receiving activities, including quantities and condition of goods, in the WMS.
- Tag and prepare received items for put-away or further processing.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Communicate any issues or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel promptly.
- Assist with other logistics and warehouse tasks as required, potentially including Lifting.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or administrative role is preferred.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and data entry.
- Experience with WMS is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain operations is beneficial.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
