Become a key player in our distribution hub as an Order Picker in sunny San Jose, California. We are looking for individuals who are energetic, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Your primary responsibility will be to accurately and efficiently retrieve items from our extensive inventory to fulfill customer orders. This role is the starting point for our outbound logistics process, demanding precision and a strong understanding of order fulfillment procedures. You will utilize tools such as RF scanners to locate products, pick them from shelves, and prepare them for the packing station. Maintaining an organized work area and contributing to the overall efficiency of the warehouse are crucial. We emphasize a commitment to safety, requiring all team members to follow established protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Your ability to work collaboratively with your colleagues, follow instructions diligently, and contribute to meeting daily picking targets will be highly valued. This position involves physical activity, including walking, bending, and lifting, so a good level of stamina is necessary. We are committed to providing a safe and productive workplace. Understanding the flow of goods within a logistics setting is beneficial for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Reading and interpreting order sheets to identify required items.
- Locating and retrieving specified items from warehouse shelves.
- Using RF scanners or other devices to track picked items.
- Ensuring accuracy of picked items against order details.
- Transporting picked items to the packing or staging area.
- Maintaining an organized and clean work environment.
- Assisting with inventory checks and stock put-away.
- Adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Properly using required PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an order picker or in a warehouse role is advantageous.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Capacity for precise item identification and counting.
- Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Familiarity with RF scanning technology is a plus.
- Understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory flow.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Commitment to safety and willingness to wear PPE.
