Key Responsibilities: Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases across on-prem and Azure environments. Monitor database performance, conduct tuning, and troubleshoot issues proactively. Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans. Ensure database security and compliance with company policies. Support database deployments, upgrades, and migrations (SQL and Databricks) Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to optimize database-related processes. Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts. Maintain database documentation and operational procedures. Participate in capacity planning and performance tuning efforts. Automating DBA tasks using scripting or tools Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Database Administrator focused on Microsoft SQL Server (on-prem and Azure). Strong understanding of database architecture, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization. Experience with backup/restore, high availability (AlwaysOn, clustering), and disaster recovery strategies. Familiarity with Azure SQL Database and Azure infrastructure. Solid scripting skills (T-SQL, PowerShell, or similar). Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Strong communication skills to collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders. Preferred (Optional) Skills:
Knowledge of Microsoft Copilot and Github Copilot to automate or refine code and database administration task using AI is a plus. Experience with Vertica/Databricks on Azure. Knowledge of other data platforms or cloud providers is a bonus. Knowledge of terraform or equivalent IaC tool. Eligibility Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in database administration. Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States. Must be able to work in person at least four days per week. Must be willing to submit to a background investigation Must be willing to work additional hours as needed to complete deadline driven projects.
