The primary objective of this role is to safeguard America's borders and protect its citizens.

Detection, questioning, and apprehension of individuals suspected of violating immigration laws:

• To detect people who may be attempting to enter the country illegally or engage in any other illegal activity. To question these individuals about their reasons for being at the border area.
• To prevent undocumented noncitizens from entering or re-entering the United States by effectively utilizing resources such as patrol vehicles, surveillance systems, etc., leading to successful arrests.
