• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration laws requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication techniques.

Surveillance is a critical aspect of border patrol work. Agents must be vigilant in detecting suspicious activity and identifying potential security threats.  Detecting illegal crossings,  preventing human trafficking, and interdicting narcotics smuggling require continuous observation and monitoring.  Agents use advanced technologies such as motion detectors,  thermal imaging cameras, and sensors to monitor vast areas of the border.

• Traffic management, both pedestrian or vehicular
• Maintaining accurate records for subsequent action taken
