The Assistant General Manager is responsible for overseeing the services and leading the operations team with a smooth efficient service that meets the expectations of customers and act according to our company's standards.
The main responsibilities of the position are:
Assist in all Opening/closing duties.
Ordering F&B- as needed.
Scheduling of team.
Assist in operations administration, monitor operations, staff performance and lounge condition.
Other Key Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth operations of all areas and a commitment to maintaining the high standards expected by the Signature Suite passengers.
Help deliver superior customer service by creating memorable dining and best in class guest experiences through effective management and training of the service team
Actively engages with guests to ensure a premium level of service and guest satisfaction
Monitors and ensures high food and beverage quality in presentation and production for all offerings
Monitors and ensures the safe service of all alcoholic beverages and high sanitation standards
Actively participates in the mentorship and support of all team members on a daily basis
Be an inspirational, committed and responsible member of the Air Canada Signature Suite Management Team
Manage and liaise with other members of the management team to ensure a high level of service is provided to our guests.
Ensure SOPs and service standards are fully met by all staff.
Take initiative to identify areas for improvement and participate in continual improvement activities.
A focus on ongoing training and development of the staff to Air Canada Signature Suite standards
Handle administrative duties including organizing employee rosters, duty assignments and operating assignments as assigned by the General Manager
Other related responsibilities and special or ad hoc projects, as assigned.
Qualifications Required
Serving It Right certified
5+ years of experience supervising a premium food and beverage operation is required
Critical thinker, solution-based individual experienced in creating business/customer relation structures
An inspiring leader with strong leadership and people skills with the ability to elevate a team to achieve its highest potential and then take it to the next level
Skilled at developing and creating dining experiences, menus and beverage lists that drive guest satisfaction and loyalty
High level of attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft office and good communication skills, including verbal and writing skills
High sense of responsibility, ownership and initiative
A solution provider committed to a vision of service that will provide an ultimate guest experience
Ability to handle conflicting deadlines and prioritize
As we are a travel-based business, it is essential to have the flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays
Able to obtain Transport Canada clearance for security pass (RAIC) to work at the airport.
Must be flexible to work weekdays/weekends, statutory holidays and flexible shifts of early morning/day/evening shifts
Working Conditions
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
Must be flexible to work weekdays/weekends and statutory holidays.
Must be available to work flexible shifts early morning/day/evening shifts
