Position Title: Junior Accountant

Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records.
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals and adjustments.
- Process cash receipts, accounts receivable (AR), and accounts payable (AP) transactions accurately and on time.
- Conduct monthly data integrity checks and balancing of GL, AR, and AP subledgers.
Tax & Compliance
- Prepare and file GST/HST returns in accordance with Canadian tax regulations.
- Assist with Canadian and U.S. sales tax filings.
- Maintain supporting documentation for tax compliance and audit purposes.
Month-End & Audit Support
- Support month-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Assist in preparing year-end audit working papers and supporting documentation.
- Provide documentation and schedules as required by external auditors.
Financial Reporting & Analysis Support
- Support product cost calculations by collecting and analyzing expense data.
- Consolidate financial information for weekly and monthly management reports.
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects.
- Maintain accurate financial records to support budgeting and decision-making.
General Duties
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Accounting Supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2–3 years of accounting experience (co-op or internship experience considered an asset).
- Knowledge of GST/HST regulations; experience with U.S. sales tax is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
- CPA candidate status is considered an asset.
