HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Human Resources Specialist to provide comprehensive support across the full employee lifecycle. In this role, you will manage employment and contractor processes, support audit and compliance requirements, coordinate international mobility programs, and contribute to an exceptional HR service experience. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare, present, negotiate, and maintain employment, contractor, and agency worker offers
  • Facilitate the full contract lifecycle, including renewals and contractual changes for contingent workers
  • Provide guidance on contractor rate history, payment structures, and negotiation strategies to ensure company and market alignment
  • Develop, implement, and continually optimize HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable Canadian and American employment legislation and industry best practices
  • Process client or project onboarding requirements, including assistance with RFP documentation and coordination of personnel security clearances
  • Support HR-related components of internal and external audits (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, wage and vacancy surveys)
  • Administer the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, ensuring seamless end-to-end support for both existing employees and new employees requiring work authorization
  • Coordinate and support applications for employee relocations to the U.S. or ongoing legal status requirements in America
  • Write and review Adastra resumes:
  • Review CVs for quality control and alignment with job descriptions
  • Create new resumes and update existing ones for client submissions
  • Collaborate with Adastra Group in all areas relevant to your job duties
  • Support company growth and related projects
  • Conduct HR research and support other HR initiatives as needed
  • Assist the HR team with hosting company events
  • Continuously engage with staff:
  • Educate and promote our programs
  • Ensure staff are engaged and supported and solicit feedback
  • Offer support or direct staff to appropriate resources

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in HR Operations or a similar role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) at an intermediate to advanced level
  • Hands-on experience with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
  • Canadian citizenship or permanent residency, with at least 5 years of verifiable work history (required for security clearance)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Highly adaptable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive, energetic, and able to thrive both independently and in a team setting

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Experience in the Technology, Data, or Analytics sectors
  • Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) designation through the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC)
  • Knowledge or experience with U.S. HR operations (recruitment, onboarding, benefits, employment law)
  • Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) Certification
  • First Aid Certification
