Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting store operations, driving sales, and ensuring excellent customer service. The Assistant Store Manager will assist in managing daily store activities, supervising staff, and maintaining a positive shopping experience for customers.

Duties

  • Assist in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new staff members
  • Supervise and motivate team members to achieve sales goals and deliver exceptional customer service
  • Manage inventory levels through purchasing, merchandising, and pricing strategies
  • Handle cash management duties such as cashiering, cash handling, and balancing registers
  • Implement marketing initiatives to promote store products and services
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards to enhance store presentation
  • Utilize POS systems for sales transactions and inventory management
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching for staff development
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and operational procedures

Skills

  • Strong leadership with proven supervising experience in retail management
  • Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in POS systems, bookkeeping, and basic math skills for cash handling and pricing accuracy
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
  • Skilled in negotiation, sales management, and customer service excellence
  • Experience with recruiting, interviewing, and training staff members
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
  • Knowledge of merchandising, marketing strategies, and retail sales techniques
  • Competence in budgeting, payroll processing, and administrative tasks
  • Ability to supervise team members effectively while fostering a positive work environment
