Border Security Specialist

This is an entry-level position in a dynamic law enforcement environment. The successful candidate will work as part of a highly trained team, striving to protect the American people by safeguarding our borders.

Key responsibilities include detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration laws, inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations, preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens, interpreting tracks and other physical evidence of illegal entry, performing farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, transportation checks.

• Must possess one year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge, make sound decisions under stress; learn regulations through classroom training/on-the-job instruction; gather concise information through observation/examination of documents/records OR Bachelor's degree in any field leading to degree from accredited college/university OR Combination of general work experience/successfully completed college education calculated using resume/transcripts submitted with application;


• To qualify for GL-7 grade level must have one year specialized work experience making sound judgments/arrests after completing required training applying skills in law enforcement capacity dealing effectively/courteously with public analyzing rapidly/making prompt decisions AND/OR bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement based on class standing/GPA (3.0+)/or honor society membership/or full-year graduate education related field study from accredited institution.)
