Overview GovCIO is seeking a talented Lead Data Infrastructure Operations professional to spearhead our Infrastructure & Data Center architecture. In this influential role, you will provide technical leadership while maintaining operations for genomic workloads, focusing on HPC, Imaging, and AI-Large Language Models (LLM). Responsibilities As the Lead Data Infrastructure Operations, you will be instrumental in creating, developing, and implementing cutting-edge enterprise and cloud-based infrastructure solutions. You will address complex challenges across on-premises and cloud environments, delivering innovative solutions to elevate the experience of researchers. Your responsibilities include: Designing and constructing data centers equipped for next-generation computing capabilities. Conducting system administration tasks, troubleshooting high-availability systems, optimizing performance, and managing GPU resources. Utilizing automation techniques to enhance operations efficiency. Designing infrastructure and network solutions catered to genomic workloads and AI initiatives. Ensuring compliance with security best practices across all data center operations and infrastructure design. Qualifications To excel in this role, candidates should possess: A Bachelor's degree and over 15 years of relevant experience. Profound experience in data center architecture and design. Familiarity with data center rack and stack procedures. Expert network design skills, especially in hybrid ecosystems. A solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and agile methodologies. Specialization in Infrastructure Architecture, with extensive on-premises knowledge and cloud experience (AWS, Azure) being advantageous. Experience designing GPU and HPC systems for genomic processing and AI workloads. Proficiency in virtualization techniques and hypervisor operations. Knowledge of MLOps and DevSecOps is a plus. Experience developing secure and scalable infrastructure for web, data, and back-end applications. Familiarity with IaaS and PaaS models, particularly in hybrid and public/gov cloud environments. Understanding distributed data systems and AI workload infrastructure. Experience with GPU virtualization and management across environments. Strong knowledge in network, server, and storage design in a scalable and fault-tolerant architecture. A broad understanding of both on-premises and cloud infrastructure, along with network services management. Experience implementing IaaS and PaaS solutions for on-premises setups. Keen understanding of IaC (Infrastructure as Code) and automation tools like Terraform. Preferred Skills and Experience Proven experience in designing and building high-performance data centers for genomic workloads, including AI, Imaging, and HPC applications. Skill in creating secure, highly available infrastructure architectures across diverse data centers. Expertise in network design, including firewalls and routers. Collaboration skills for working with Application and Data Architects to fulfill security and data requirements. Experience architecting high-performance computing clusters to facilitate extensive genomics pipelines. Posted Salary Range The salary for this role is expected to range between USD $150,000.00 and USD $170,000.00 per year, depending on various factors such as experience and market location.
