A Border Patrol Agent is a key member of our law enforcement team, responsible for safeguarding the American people by deterring illicit activity and enhancing economic prosperity.

• Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration laws


• Inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations


• Preventing undocumentd noncitizens from entering or re-entering the country

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet certain requirements as outlined below.
The GL-5 grade level requires either one year of general work experience demonstrating leadership ability or completion of a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement.If you have previous military experience or are currently serving in federal civilian law enforcement (non-military) position covered under Title 5 U.S.C., we encourage you to apply regardless if your age exceeds forty years old.Due to Veterans Recruitment Appointment eligibility,no age restriction applies .
