Border Patrol Agent Job Description
A major mission is to protect the border by detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws. The primary duties include:
- Detecting and inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.
- Promoting peace and security, enforcing criminal codes, correcting violations, working with offenders in correctional settings like security services military etc. and ensuring safety in law enforcement capacity.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills,
personality traits that show empathy but firmness when dealing with challenging situations,
a sense of justice,
critical thinking for making informed decisions quickly under pressure ,
availability to work flexible hours including overtime
in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
