Role Overview:
Our Toronto office is currently recruiting for a Client Relations Specialist, reporting to the Client Relationship Partner. The Client Relations Specialist assists in supporting the firm's Client Listening Program and carrying out other strategies focused on Leading the new client intake process to identify key areas for growth and cross-selling opportunities, and assisting with implementing the firm's Business Development Program, which is managed in consultation with various practice groups to help drive, attract, and retain clients in a variety of industries and sectors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Reporting to and working closely with the Client Relationship Partner to identify opportunities to grow client relationships and cross-marketing opportunities.
Collaborating with the Business Development, Marketing, Accounting, and IT teams on firmwide strategic projects and initiatives related to client management and service delivery.
Client Listening Program
Using technologies such as 3E, InterAction, and CapitalIQ to create client intelligence reports and supporting documents.
Attending client interviews with the Client Relationship Partner and managing action tasks and follow up with various practice groups from start to completion.
Collecting, analyzing and summarizing data collected from clients to identify key trends in feedback, areas of growth and opportunities for cross-selling.
Applying key data to collaborate with various industry groups in identifying opportunities to expand client relationships.
Practice/Industry Group Strategic Planning, Execution, and Support
Developing a deep understanding of key industries and practices of the firm, including lead client teams, relationship lawyers and firm structure.
Working closely with lead lawyers to develop, implement, and manage select practice and industry group business plans, identifying opportunities to strategically raise group profiles and cross-sell services.
Assisting with identifying and evaluating new business opportunities and targets.
Research
Conducting research, analysis, and reports on existing and potential clients, competitor activity, and market/industry trends using various platforms including CapitalIQ and Mergermarket.
The successful candidate must have the following education, experience and/or demonstrated skills:
Three (3) + years of progressive client relations, business development, or marketing experience in a law firm.
Experience managing client intake process, specifically researching client brand and opportunities and identifying areas for cross-selling.
Experience directly working with client relationship lawyers to push forward business development initiatives.
Preferably have experience supporting or managing a client feedback program
Experience collecting, synthesizing and summarizing data, preferably in the client relations space.
Undergraduate degree, preferably with additional relevant education or equivalent work experience.
Proactive self-starter and strategic thinker who can take ownership of their responsibilities.
Strong organizational skills. Has the ability to prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Ability to push projects forward and be proactive.
Strong note taking skills and the ability to stay focused for in person client interviewing.
Ability to collect, synthesize and summarize qualitative data.
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time (4-days per week in office)
Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000 Annually
