About The Role
Lead in one of the most essential yet innovative industries: aggregates mining right in the East GTA. Reporting to the GTA Operations Manager, this role manages the aggregate operations at Mosport Aggregates and the surrounding satellite sites. This role is responsible for ensuring top performance on safety, environmental, production, and shipping activities. The responsibilities also include the development, leadership and management of all site employees. The Site Superintendent will ensure alignment with all functional groups including: safety, environment, land, manufacturing and supply chain to drive a consistent process and standard approach. The manager is responsible for engaging with our neighbours and local communities to ensure we are viewed as a valued member of the industry and local community.
What You'll Accomplish
Experience the world of mining while being situated in an urban environment.
Gain interdisciplinary management experience, including people management, operations, and finance.
Develop and instill a site-level safety culture with an objective of zero harm.
Lead daily huddles to demonstrate commitment to workplace safety and ensure compliance with all health and safety policies.
Directly manage the development, motivation, and training of all direct reports.
Establish and manage weekly production and maintenance schedules to meet daily targets.
Develop and adhere to annual maintenance budgets and participate in monthly EBIT reviews.
Manage production and inventory forecasting to optimize yield and profitability.
Ensure site-level compliance with Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) requirements.
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
What We're Looking For
Education: An undergraduate degree in business, engineering, or equivalent experience.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years relevant experience (not necessarily in aggregates or construction).
Skills: Strong problem solving, analytical, and people management skills.
Leadership: A strong track record of functional or operational leadership.
Attributes: Disciplined, process-oriented, and capable of dealing with ambiguity and conflict.
Additional Requirements
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
