So what's this role all about?
The Team Development Generalist (Human Resources Generalists) acts as an advisor, recruiter, culture champion and partner to our Team Development Regional Leaders. They apply legislation knowledge to support real-life business needs. They help leaders navigate everything from work permits to tough conversations, and ensure our processes, systems, and policies translate to the retail floor, into Distribution Centres and Home Office. They are the bridge between policy and people, between what's written on paper and what real life requires. Above all, they build strong relationships and help align decisions with who we are and what feels like 'us'.
You'll fit in great if you:
Work closely with the Team Development Regional Leader to support the locations/departments in their allocated region on all Team Development strategies, programs and policies
Coach and provides advice to key roles and Team Members on existing Team Development policies and guidelines interpretation, career development, recruiting initiatives, compensation, benefits, performance management, direct working relationships, counseling, training, and health & safety
Support the delivery and administration of recruitment related activities including job postings and criteria development; advertising and candidate sourcing; resume screening, interviewing, and candidate selection advice; managing presentation of offer and negotiations; and ensuring successful onboarding.
Work closely with stores to manage work permits, SIN expiry and related paperwork
Maintain positive relationships and exceptional service at all touch points through the life cycle of a Team Member.
Actively participates in activities and engages in cross functional Team Development projects
Participate in the development and maintenance of processes, policies and best practices
Stay informed on legislation, trends and innovation in the field of Human Resources and provides suggestion or recommendations in alignment with Company Brand and Values
Build effective business relationships with Leaders and Team Members and seeks to understand the goals and challenges within each department in order to provide value and support
Support the development of our Team Members by facilitating training sessions, as required
Assist in the maintenance, updates and upgrades to systems (e.g. SharePoint Online, HRIS, Applicant tracking)
Value Teamwork, ownership, people, integrity and community.
A few other things we're looking for:
Post-secondary education in a related field plus minimum 2 years' Human Resource Generalist experience or equivalent combination of related experience and education
Fluent in English and French an asset
Working knowledge of HR legislation across Canada
Proven adaptability and strong performance in a fluid, high-growth, fast-paced environment
Highly organized; able to balance multiple priorities while adhering to tight deadlines
A self-starter with strong team and service orientation
Successful track record building and maintaining relationships at all levels of the organization
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively on the phone
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, SharePoint Online, Applicant tracking systems, etc.
Able to maintain high degree of confidentiality
General retail experience considered an asset
Ability to travel
