About
The Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the services and leading the operations team with a smooth efficient service that meets the expectations of customers and act according to our company's standards.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and coordinate daily Front of House and Back of House operations of all lounges during the shift.
Monitor and ensure the service speed & quality are up to company standards.
Ensure all staff members are knowledgeable of products, such as the menu, services and overall information about the airport.
Audit units to ensure conformance with the company, government, and health authority standards regulations and codes regarding food storage, preparation, sanitation, and record keeping.
Supervise team members, tracking and measuring staff performance; conduct staff counseling and work closely with HR Department for disciplinary actions taken and follow-up.
Monitor and check front of house (FOH) inventory and forecast weekly ordering.
Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste.
Build rapports with customers and carry out PR activities so as to receive feedback from customers on their lounge experiences; resolve guest complaints and give directions to tackle guest inquiries.
Perform necessary auditing to daily tractions, such as void transactions, and keep a track record for auditing.
Assist Lounge Manager / Operations Manager to analyze data and statistics of customer flow and pattern
Assist Lounge Manager / Operations Manager to lead focus groups, committees, and projects.
Act as a bridge of communication between management & teammates and make timely and effective reports as required.
Liaise with airlines for any necessary information.
Handle administrative duties including organizing employee rosters and duty assignments.
Monitor regular checks of all areas of the lounge to ensure a professional image.
Take initiative to identify areas for improvement and participate in continual improvement activities.
Other related responsibilities and special or ad hoc projects, as assigned.
Qualifications Required
Completion of High School, College/CEGEP/Vocational or Technical training.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in hotels and/or restaurants.
Must possess proper liquor service certification according to provincial requirements. (eg. Serving it Right, Smart Serve, Smart Choices, ProServe, Service in Action)
Possess Food Safe – Level 1 certified.
Passionate about customer service and able to create a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
High level of attention to detail.
Ability to work in a team environment and take direction.
Possess excellent communication skills (verbal and writing).
Good organizational skills.
Self-motivated.
Strong interpersonal skills with positive attitude.
Must be able to multitask and plan ahead.
Strong supervision and multitasking skills.
Demonstrates leadership skills and abilities as a role model.
Good computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel and Outlook).
Able to obtain Transport Canada clearance for security pass (RAIC) to work at the airport.
Working Conditions
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
Must be flexible to work weekdays/weekends and statutory holidays.
Must be available to work flexible shifts early morning/day/evening shifts
