Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Toronto, ON, for a Junior to Intermediate Mechanical Engineer. In this role, you will design and optimize mechanical components and systems, develop detailed CAD models, and support machine design projects. Working closely with the engineering team, you will contribute to research and development initiatives, assist in project management, and ensure high-quality standards throughout the design and manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in advancing DeepCoolAI's cutting-edge cooling technologies.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in Mechanical Engineering principles and Machine Design
Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools and techniques
Familiarity with Research and Development (R&D) processes and practices
Basic knowledge of Project Management for engineering and design processes
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Prior experience in thermal or liquid cooling systems is an asset
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and convey technical concepts effectively
Key Responsibilities
· Assist in the design and modelling of components and assemblies for RDHx, CDUs, and related products using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
· Assist in preparing detailed drawings, BoMs, and specifications for manufacturing and assembly.
· Conduct basic thermal and fluid calculations (heat transfer, pressure drop, airflow, pump curves).
· Support prototype builds and testing, including data collection and reporting.
· Collaborate with electrical and control teams to ensure mechanical designs integrate smoothly with power and automation systems.
· Help maintain engineering documentation, revision control, and compliance records.
· Participate in supplier communication for parts sourcing, fabrication, and quality checks.
· Support the Sales Team by preparing project specifications, reviewing supplier equipment, and assisting in the development of RFPs and customer quotations.
· Contribute to continuous improvement efforts for design, manufacturability, and reliability.
Must-Have Qualifications
· B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
· 1–3 years of relevant experience (internships, co-ops, or projects acceptable).
· Familiar with 3D CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
· Basic understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics
· Strong problem-solving, organizational, and teamwork skills.
· Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-Have
· Familiarity with sheet metal design, piping, or HVAC systems.
· Familiarity with heat exchangers, coils, pumps and fans.
· Exposure to thermal/fluid simulation tools (ANSYS, CFD, or similar).
· Experience with data center or industrial equipment.
· Knowledge of ASHRAE thermal-management standards.
· EIT status or working toward P.Eng. in Canada (or equivalent in the U.S.).
