NextStar Energy (NSE) is an innovative joint venture company between LG and Stellantis. It will be Canada's first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begins production at the Twin Oaks site in Windsor, Ontario. The manufacturing facility will have an annual targeted production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas. As a Factory Automation Technician you will have an opportunity to understand the battery manufacturing process and learn about equipment and products as an expert.
Responsibilities
Installation schedule management, maintenance, and performance enhancement of Logistic
Automation Equipment(ex, AS/RS, Stocker crane, Conveyor system, AGV, Overhead Shuttle, etc)
Advanced machine troubleshooting. Drive troubleshooting and problem-solving activities when equipment breakdowns and target performance has not been achieved.
Data analysis and collection. Collects and analyzes data, conducts tests, assists with research and development, and records results
Process and installation Parameter checks with based on line standards.
Communication. Initiates and fosters cooperation and communication within and between departments and shifts.
Machine operation, diagnose machine/process issues and make machine adjustments.
Work on continuous process improvements to ensure the line is operating at its designed level at all times.
Navigate computer and machine programs. Run queries to troubleshoot issues and keep machines running properly.
Assist the engineer during tests or machine inspections to corrective action of production problems.
Maintain 3R(Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) 5S(Sort-out, Set-in-order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) standards.
Prepare and participate daily/weekly/monthly meetings with other teams.
Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School diploma, General Education Development (GED), or Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) required
Ability up to 12 hours of work in a limited, noisy, dry space
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Legally authorized to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
Junior college's associate degree or diploma and vocational training preferred
Bachelor's degree in electricity/electronics/mechanics, etc. is preferred
3-7+ Experience with operators and technicians in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Experience of trouble shooting or hands on experience for machine is preferred
Experience with Siemens PLC is preferred
Experience with Logistics Automation (Stocker, Lifter, Conveyor, Robot, AGV etc) is preferred
Experience with Equipment expansion experience preferred
Electrical/mechanical-related certificate or domain knowledge preferred
