The Opportunity
Leavitt Industrial Group is looking for a strategic and hands-on Human Resources Consultant to join our team in Coquitlam, British Columbia on a 6-month term contract. As the HR Consultant, you will dive into complex people challenges, identify patterns and trends, develop actionable recommendations, and lead the end-to-end implementation of scalable, sustainable HR solutions that support organizational growth.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
As the HR Consultant your key responsibilities will include:
Digging into HR issues to identify root causes, assess impact, and develop clear, practical recommendations
Spotting patterns, themes, and trends across people data, feedback, processes, and employee experiences
Providing thoughtful, evidence-based insights to inform leadership decision-making
Translating recommendations into action by designing and implementing HR solutions, programs, and processes
Leading end-to-end delivery of HR initiatives, including project plans, timelines, documentation, and change management to ensure successful adoption
Partnering closely with leaders, managers, and team members to understand needs and co-create practical solutions
Supporting leaders in navigating people-related challenges with clarity, confidence, and consistency
Building strong, trusting relationships across teams while acting as a connector and facilitator
Assessing current HR practices, identifying gaps, and prioritizing areas for structure and refinement
Strengthening foundational HR processes, policies, and programs
Supporting the development of scalable HR frameworks that can grow with the organization
Providing generalist and advisory support as needed, including performance management, employee relations casework, workforce planning and organizational design, talent and onboarding initiatives, engagement initiatives, and manager coaching
Required Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:
At least 7 years of progressive HR experience, ideally with a generalist, consulting, or HR Business Partner background
Proven ability to diagnose issues, see the big picture, and connect the dots across people and culture
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data and insights into meaningful, practical action
Demonstrated success implementing HR programs end-to-end
Excellent communication skills with exceptional relationship-building capabilities
Comfort operating in ambiguity and thriving in environments where structure is evolving
Collaborative, pragmatic, curious, and highly execution-oriented
A strategic thinker who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and working operationally
A problem-solver who brings clarity to complex, messy challenges
A trusted partner who can respectfully challenge and effectively influence and who is energized by helping an organization level up its HR maturity

The base pay range for this role is: $110,000 to $125,000 annually, depending on experience.
This is a hybrid role based in Coquitlam, British Columbia. This is a six month contract position.
