We are looking for an organized and motivated individual to join our dynamic team as an Accounting Analyst for our Brampton, ON office.
Responsibilities{{{{:}}}}
Prepare consolidated financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
Handle day-to-day accounting activities including invoice processing, bank reconciliations, and month-end closings.
Perform full-cycle bookkeeping including monthly accounting, reports, bank reconciliation, month end closing
Use statistical and analytical techniques to analyze AP, AR, and accounting data. This includes identifying trends, patterns, outliers, and anomalies.
Prepare reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings, trends, and insights derived from data analysis. Present these reports to stakeholders such as finance teams, management, and other relevant parties.
Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis.
Prepare recommendations for efficiency and improvements to existing processes.
Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across different systems and sources.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the AP, AR, and accounting functions based on data analysis results.
Interpret business requirements and perform analysis to support strategic and tactical objectives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, accounting, IT, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements, gather feedback, and implement data-driven solutions.
Build strong and influential internal relationships to help ensure business objectives are being met.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business analytics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field is often required
2+ years of experience in Finance/Accounting or related field.
Experience in the Logistics / Transportation or Supply Chain industries is an asset.
Professional experience with reporting packages (Power BI, Tableau, etc.), databases and general programming languages Professional experience in data mining, cleaning, and segmentation is an asset.
Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding operational environment, sometimes without detailed direction.
Strong attention to details and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
Experience with payment applications.
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills & strong interpersonal and customer relation skills.
Ability to analyze financial data, identify patterns, trends and discrepancies.
Ability to work efficiently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced business environment.
