About
Our Durham, North Carolina facility is seeking a proactive Inventory Control Specialist. This role is critical to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory, directly impacting our **logistics** efficiency. You will be responsible for managing inventory levels, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing improvements to inventory processes. A strong understanding of warehouse **logistics** and a commitment to **safety** are essential. If you are detail-oriented and possess excellent analytical skills, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Implement and manage inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor stock levels and report on inventory turnover and obsolescence.
- Coordinate with receiving, shipping, and production teams to resolve inventory issues.
- Ensure proper **Lifting** techniques and **safety** procedures are followed during inventory movements.
- Assist in the organization and layout of warehouse storage areas for optimal **logistics**.
- Ensure all necessary **PPE** is used correctly by team members involved in inventory handling.
- Develop and propose solutions for improving inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Adhere to all company **safety** policies and procedures.
- Train warehouse staff on inventory management best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role within a warehouse environment.
- Strong knowledge of **logistics** principles and inventory management systems (WMS experience is highly desirable).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform moderate **Lifting** and work in a warehouse environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Must be safety-conscious and adhere to all **safety** regulations, including the use of **PPE**.
