Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist for our Washington, D.C. operations. This role is paramount to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory, directly impacting our logistics and supply chain efficiency. You will be responsible for monitoring stock levels, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing strategies to minimize inventory loss. This position requires a high level of analytical skill, organization, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will be proficient with inventory management systems and possess a strong understanding of warehouse procedures. Maintaining Safety standards is a key component of this role. Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure data accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Monitor stock levels and reorder points, recommending replenishment strategies.
  • Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Track and manage the movement of goods, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Conduct analysis of inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure the proper handling and storage of all materials, including the use of appropriate PPE.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff and management to optimize inventory flow and reduce waste.
  • Contribute to the overall efficiency of our logistics operations.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
  • Proficiency with WMS software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Understanding of logistics and supply chain best practices.
  • Knowledge of Safety procedures relevant to warehouse environments.
  • Ability to perform moderate Lifting as needed during inventory checks.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
