Agropur is looking for a Operations Manager to join is Burnaby team.
Reporting to the Plant Director, the Operations Manager plans, manages, and leads production and cooler warehouse activities at the Burnaby Plant. They will have a strong commitment to operationnal excellence, safety, food quality, efficiency, and fostering positive labour relations. The Operations Manager will lead and drive initiatives to meet and exceed operational strategies and objectives.

Salary range 006: $105,900 to $132,400 (Salary will be determined based on skills, education, training & experience related to the position.)
What's involved in this role:
More specifically, the Burnaby plant Operations Manager's responsibilities will include:
Drive operational excellence by bringing expertise in technical processing, leadership, planning, continuous improvement, and clear communication.
Manage and support production and warehouse supervisors by setting priorities, objectives, and high standards for work.
Ensure safety and adequate training for all production and cooler/warehouse employees.
Ensure correct stock turnover and inventory levels of manufactured and distributed products.
Serve as a change agent and, promote a clear vision and positive workplace culture by encouraging opportunities to work as a team.
Is accountable for plant labour budget, monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and driving action plans when targets are not met.
Lead and drive organizational goals and strategic plans for the site that contribute to Agropur Cooperative's commitment to driving value.
Support and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams remotely as required.
Supports audits (by government, third parties, customers) and actively participate in developing and carrying out action plans.
Participate in planning the annual plant budget, capital expenditures, and project planning related to the site.
Support employees in troubleshooting and offer after-hours support, where as required.
Provide leadership on continuous improvement activities.
Support communications within the site and escalate issues to relevant parties.
What you need to join our team:
College diploma or university degree in operations, management or other relevant training.
Proven track record of strong technical knowledge, building teams, delivering fiscal targets, and leading change.
Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environment.
Experience in the food or beverage industry.
Experience with LEAN methodology and tools is an important asset.
Experience leading in a unionized environment an important asset
