As our innovative business continues to rapidly grow, we are seeking for a full-time Seafood Production Manager at our Richmond location.

Position:  Full-Time, Permanent
Schedule:  Monday-Friday, early morning schedule (5:00am-5:30am start time)
Salary:  Between $80,000-$90,000 per year plus performance bonus, based on experience

Essential Functions:

  • Develops and implements policies and procedures for various production activities including verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and maintenance of a current inventory.

  • Manages and oversees production yields and labour usage.

  • Performs inspections of physical condition of production area and equipment.  Prepares work orders for repairs or requisitions for replacement of equipment.

  • Collaborates with department heads in the coordination of activities with other functions including sales, QA, logistics, and purchasing.

  • Directs salvage of damaged or used material.

  • Collaborates in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities.

  • Provides leadership, ensures adherence to Intercity's policies and procedures and apply corrective action when required.

  • Interview, hire, train, and retain staff.  Conducts performance monitoring of staff, initiating follow through with disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Human Resources when appropriate for the department.  Mentors, motivates, and develops staff and acts as a role model and resource to them. Works with Sr. Leadership to identify and develop future leaders.

  • Routinely monitors, analyzes variances and takes appropriate action and develops plans for productivity improvements.

  • Maintains relevant and updated knowledge and technical aptitude on current operations systems in order to utilize this knowledge to make educated, data driven decisions in everyday and emergent operational crisis.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and be able to work independently or within a team environment.

  • Must have, or be willing to develop, a detailed knowledge of all seafood production processes.

  • Must be able to perform fundamental mathematical functions.

  • Must be able to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity and reference policies and practices for guidance.

  • Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, email and internet software applications.

Minimum Years of Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience as either a production or warehouse manager at another processing plant/company.
