  • Act as a trusted advisor to new and existing clients—identifying opportunities, shaping proposals, and supporting market growth strategies.
  • Represent WSP within the broader technical community through CSA, ACI, ICRI, and other regional committees.
  • Mentor and coach junior and intermediate engineers—supporting technical decision‑making, developing expertise, and enhancing project delivery.
  • Strengthen our practice through collaboration, knowledge‑sharing, and materials engineering innovation.

Your Impact

  • Deliver consulting engineering services for industrial, commercial, municipal, transportation, and residential projects throughout British Columbia, Canada, and globally.

  • Conduct and validate concrete mix design, asphalt pavement design, structural repair strategies, and mass concrete thermal mitigation solutions.
  • Perform non-destructive evaluation, service life modelling, and durability assessments for concrete structures.
  • Support business development through client engagement, proposal contributions, and participation in industry events.
  • Review technical work from junior personnel to ensure quality, accuracy, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Support project cost estimating, resource planning, and scope management.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Materials Engineering with specialization in construction materials; a Master or Ph.D. degree is an asset.
  • Over 5 years of materials engineering experience in Canada; experience within British Columbia is a significant asset.
  • Possesses a strong knowledge of engineering design principles for concrete, with a particular emphasis on condition assessment and rehabilitation design, and a broad awareness of the materials science of concrete, aggregates and pavement engineering. Familiarity with testing of concrete and aggregates in accordance with CSA and ASTM standards is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex technical assignments while balancing client and project needs.
  • Proven business development experience including proposals, client management, and industry networking.
