Job Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, Product Verification & Sustaining Engineering, the Product Verification Associate (PVA) works closely with Product Developers, Sustaining Engineering, and Product Managers to execute the product verification strategy. The PVA will complete required product tests, document and communicate test results. This role will impact the design of the product by highlighting concerns and recommending design improvements. 

This is a new vacancy within the Product Verification and Sustaining Engineering team.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Product Verification:
    • Execute verification strategy, interpret test results and recommend improvements to the products to improve overall quality, user experience, durability, reliability, performance, compatibility, packaging, and in-box accessories, covering multiple product lines including Docking Stations, Cables, Audio-Video, Networking, I/O Cards, Data Storage, Server Management, Mounts and Ergonomics, Computer Parts and Privacy Screens.
    • Ensure all testing results are documented and clear for the Product Developer to review and action. 
  • Verification Strategy:
    • Participate directly in the creation and execution of test strategies, processes and procedures as required for the verification tasks of specific product(s) or product line, including verification of hardware, application software, and system level testing.
  • Research and Continuous Improvement:
    • Research specifications and testing methodologies for leading edge technologies.
    • Work closely with Product Development Technical and Customer support team to identify, implement and evolve best practices in design verification in support of Product Launch Process.
  • Maintenance:
    • Maintain and calibrate test equipment.
    • Make recommendations for acquiring new test equipment to stay current with the latest technologies.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Technologist Diploma or Engineering Degree in Electrical/Electronics or Mechatronics.
  • Knowledge in various Operating Systems Windows, Mac, Linux, Chrome OS.
  • Strong organizational / multitasking skills  
  • Strong problem solving / troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with MS Office tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical experience in a product development or product verification environment.
  • Experience with consumer electronics and/or computer accessory product validation / verification practices and test instrumentation.
  • Experience with high-speed electronic signal debugging using oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, and protocol analysis is desirable.
