As EAIGLE continues to grow, we are hiring a Controller to own the company's financial operations and reporting infrastructure.
This role will report to the COO/CFO and will be responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and scalability of EAIGLE's financials.
Role Overview
The Controller will own day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, quarterly reporting, and the financial controls required to support a fast-growing, multi-entity SaaS business.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring that EAIGLE's financial reporting is GAAP-compliant, and audit-ready.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Close
Own the full monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of:
Balance Sheet
Income Statement
Cash Flow statements
Maintain and improve close timelines and documentation.
Own general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Oversee some HR duties such as onboarding, benefits rollout, payroll and so on.
SaaS Revenue Recognition & Reporting (GAAP)
Own revenue recognition under US GAAP / ASC 606 for SaaS and mixed-revenue contracts.
Manage revenue treatment for:
Subscription and term-based SaaS
Multi-site enterprise contracts
Professional services / implementation
Hardware and pass-through items
Work closely with Sales and Operations to ensure contract terms are structured and booked correctly.
Maintain deferred revenue schedules and revenue waterfalls.
Support CAAR / ARR / MRR reporting and reconciliation to the general ledger.
Tax & Compliance
Own and manage:
Sales tax and use tax compliance for software and related services
Nexus analysis and filings across multiple jurisdictions
Ensure proper handling of cross-border tax considerations between Canada and the U.S.
Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors.
Cross-Border & Multi-Entity Accounting
Manage accounting and reporting for a Canadian parent entity and U.S. operating subsidiary.
Handle intercompany transactions, eliminations, and reconciliations.
Support consolidation and foreign currency considerations as required.
Financial Controls, Audit & Process Improvement
Build and maintain internal controls and accounting policies appropriate for a scaling SaaS company.
Prepare schedules and documentation for:
External accountants
Auditors
Investor diligence
Continuously improve financial processes, systems, and reporting automation.
Operational & Strategic Support
Partner closely with the COO/CFO and leadership team on:
Budgeting and forecasting
Headcount and departmental spend tracking
Cash flow management and runway reporting
Support board and investor reporting packages.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience (Controller level)
Deep hands-on experience with SaaS revenue recognition under GAAP / ASC 606
Strong experience with:
Deferred revenue
Multi-element arrangements
Subscription and services revenue models
Demonstrated experience with sales tax and use tax for software and SaaS
Experience operating in a fast-growing, venture-backed or PE-backed SaaS environment
Strong month-end close ownership and process leadership
Advanced Excel / financial systems proficiency
Experience working directly with auditors and external accounting firms
Highly Preferred
Experience with cross-border accounting involving a Canadian entity and U.S. subsidiary
Experience in a company with:
Mixed SaaS and hardware or pass-through revenue
Enterprise contracts with multi-site deployments
Prior experience supporting fundraising, due diligence, or M&A processes
CPA, CA, or equivalent designation
