Reporting to the Team Lead of Employee Relations and Staffing, the Human Resources Administrator will assist with the administration of the staffing and employee relations functions from recruiting and onboarding new positions to inputting of new hire information into the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) system.
This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working on a variety of duties simultaneously, is excited about bringing new ideas and rolling out new HR trends and initiatives. Job Description
Assist with the staffing of vacancies and transfers while identifying process improvements to attract high-performing, diverse talent. Assisting with coordinating the staffing of vacancies and transfers
Prepare hire letters and comprehensive interview packages, ensuring all documentation aligns with legislative requirements and the organization's EDI (Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) framework. Assisting with preparing interview packages for new hires to ensure compliance with legislation and EDI framework initiatives
Execute the administration of the full recruitment lifecycle, including drafting and posting opportunities across diverse platforms (LinkedIn, Indeed, Apply to Education), screening applications, and managing interview logistics.
Assist in the administration of performance appraisal processes and the ongoing development of performance management systems across all employee groups. Assisting in Performance Appraisal processes and development of performance management system for all groups
Participating in the interview process as required
Ensure all employment opportunities and postings are distributed in strict accordance with collective agreements and organizational deadlines. Preparing and distributing human resource documents such as Employment opportunities and other postings as required by collective agreements, etc
Represent the organization and coordinate participation in job fairs and external recruitment events. Coordinating and participating in job fairs as required
Assisting HR team in liaising with federal and provincial agencies (ie., Employment and Immigration Canada, Ministry of Education, College of Teachers, etc.)
Act as a first point of contact for Superintendents, Principals, and department heads (Payroll, IT, etc.) regarding
HR staffing and employee relations service delivery .
Assisting with compliance and interpretation of Collective Agreements and other employment agreements
Maintain recruitment trackers, monitor closing dates, and prepare detailed spreadsheets and HR reports as required.
Support general employee relations initiatives and assist with the interpretation and compliance of Collective Agreements and other employment contracts.
Participate in strategic meetings and execute follow-up actions to ensure departmental goals are met.
Required Qualifications
Supporting other aspects of employee relations as required
Diploma in Human Resources or equivalent
3 years of relevant human resources experience
Proficiency with the Google suite of applications, spreadsheets, databases and other HRIS software programs
Knowledge of Employment Standards Act, the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Ontario Labour Relations Act, OHSA, and Service Canada Programs
Demonstrate a high degree of management, conflict resolution and customer service skills
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
A high degree of initiative and ability to make independent decisions with minimal supervision is required
