About
We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our health and safety team in Edmonton, Alberta. This contractual, casual role is essential for providing high-quality therapeutic services to clients, helping them achieve optimal independence and quality of life. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assessing and treating individuals with physical, emotional, and developmental challenges, ensuring they receive the best possible care tailored to their needs.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' physical and mental health to determine their therapy needs.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at improving clients' functional abilities.
Provide therapeutic interventions, including exercises, adaptive equipment recommendations, and education on daily living skills.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and social workers, to ensure holistic care.
Monitor and document clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
Educate clients and their families about therapy processes and strategies for continued improvement.
Stay updated with the latest practices and advancements in occupational therapy.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Alberta.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in health and safety.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
Knowledge of current occupational therapy practices and evidence-based interventions.
Proficient in using assessment tools and therapeutic equipment.
