Job Description
Allied Universal is seeking Security Associate - Campus Level 1 in Downtown Toronto, for a renowned financial instituation.
Location: Downtown Toronto
Job Title: Security Associate - Campus Level 1
Job Type: Full-Time
Monday to Friday schedule hours) or a Day Shift Continental rotating schedule hours, 84 hours bi-weekly).
Please note that the final shift assignment will be confirmed at a later stage, as operational requirements.
Pay Rate: $22/hr - $25/hr. with incremental increases based on tenure, performance and completion of courses.
Overview:
Allied Universal is currently hiring a Security Associate - Campus Level 1 to provide professional, front-line security services for a prestigious financial institution in Downtown Toronto. This full-time role is ideal for individuals with strong customer service skills, a professional demeanor, and a background in corporate security.
Main Responsibilities:
Present a polished, professional, customer friendly image at all times
Incident response, patrols and inspections of space and equipment
Liaise with Corporate security program in compound incident response
Staff and guest information assistance as required;
Record activities and incidents via guard tour management system
Walk-safe program for employees working after hours
Cross training in other security positions as required (e.g. card holder administration assistance, lobby ambassador coverage GSOC break relief).
Ability to manage conflicts and incidents and to deescalate
Ensure that the facility's safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to fire alarms and other site emergencies
Demonstrate good judgment, common sense, and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents
Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills excellent verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications/Requirements:
Be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent
Legally entitled to work in Canada
Have at least 1 year of security experience in a Class A Commercial/Corporate Environment is preferred.
Valid Ontario Security Gaurd License.
Valid First Aid CPR certificate.
Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner
Licensing requirements are subject to province and/or local laws and regulations and will be required prior to employment.
As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background check
Display exceptional customer service and communication skills
Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites
Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
Able to:
Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat
Occasionally lift or carry up to 20 kilograms
Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
