About
Trevor Horne Architects is a London-based architectural practice specialising in bespoke, design-led projects backed by developer experience.
Our current website requires a visual and structural refresh to better reflect the quality of our work, improve lead generation, and present projects in a more editorial, contemporary way.
Project Overview
We are seeking a freelance web designer / developer with strong design sensibility to **migrate our existing website to Framer**, delivering a **new, modern design** that better showcases our projects and supports business development.
The website should feel confident, architectural, and editorial rather than corporate or templated. High-quality project presentation and clear calls-to-action are critical.
Key Objectives
* Create a modern, design-led website aligned with THA's positioning
* Present projects as **editorial-style case studies**, similar to architecture magazines or journals
* Introduce clear, well-placed **CTAs** to encourage enquiries
* Implement a robust enquiry form to capture and route leads
* Ensure the site is easy for THA to update post-handover
Platform & Technical Requirements
* Platform: **Framer**
* Migration of existing website content (to be rationalised / refined as part of the process)
* Responsive design (desktop, tablet, mobile)
* Fast load times and clean performance
* SEO-conscious structure (basic on-page SEO best practice)
Scope of Work
Website Structure
Indicative pages:
* Home
* About / Practice
* Projects (index + categorized)
* Individual Project Pages (editorial format)
* Services / Approach
* Contact / Enquiry
The final structure can be refined in collaboration with THA.
Project Pages – Editorial Approach
Project pages should read like **architectural magazine features**, not standard portfolio entries.
Key characteristics:
* Strong opening visual or hero sequence
* Clear narrative flow: context → concept → design response → outcome
* Mix of photography, drawings, diagrams, and text
Each project page must conclude with:
* A clear **call-to-action** (e.g. "Discuss a similar project", "Speak to us about your site", "Get in touch")
* Simple, unobtrusive links to enquiry or contact
Visual Design & Look and Feel
* Contemporary, architectural aesthetic
* Calm, confident typography
* Restrained colour palette
* Editorial spacing and hierarchy
* Subtle motion and transitions (not gimmicky)
The design should elevate the work, not compete with it.
Enquiry & Lead Capture
* Clear enquiry form integrated into the site
* Forms to capture:
* Name
* Site location
* Project description
* Project Budget
* Enquiries should route directly to THA email
* Consideration for different CTAs depending on page context (e.g. projects vs contact page)
Content & Collaboration
* THA will supply:
* Project imagery
* Drawings and diagrams
* Core text (to be refined collaboratively)
* The freelancer is expected to:
* Advise on content structure and hierarchy
* Refine layouts and editorial flow
* Guide on image formats and animation feasibility
Required Experience
Essential:
* Proven experience designing and building websites in **Framer**
* Strong portfolio demonstrating design-led, editorial-style websites
* Experience working with architecture, design, or creative practices
* Excellent visual judgement and attention to detail
