  • What You'll Do

  • Provides Restaurant guests with prompt, efficient and courteous food and beverage service.
  • Sets the stage for a pleasant dining experience, creating an atmosphere of relaxation and quality dining by greeting and seating the guests (as required) in a polite and courteous manner.
  • Performs various opening duties including preparing tables and work stations for shift as well as preparing service areas in kitchen for daily operations following site specific procedures. 
  • Provides educated food and beverage suggestions as well as responds to guest inquiries.
  • Identifies and acts upon opportunities to upsell. 
  • Orders in an accurate and efficient manner by using POS system and following site-specific expediting procedure.
  • Maintains a detailed knowledge of all food and beverage menus as well as an understanding of local suppliers used at each location. 
  • Contributes to a Team Service Environment by assisting fellow Servers with Food and Beverage orders, meal/drink delivery and other as required. 
  • Monitors food quality to ensure it is prepared correctly and presented in an appealing and appetizing manner; reports any concerns to Venue Manager or Designate.
  • Issues Guests their meal check and collects payment following site-specific procedures
  • Participates and collects information for various NPC studies
  • Follows all polices regarding responsible alcohol service (Smart Serve). 
  • Clears, cleans and resets tables; ensures all surrounding area is clean of crumbs, debris prior to next seating. 
  • Linens, skirts and sets tables for banquets/tours as required. 
  • Moves tables and chairs to the best of their physical ability as directed in support of team members and operational needs between, during and after service.
  • Maintains a clean and fully stocked side station including stocking china, glassware, cutlery and linen throughout their shift.
  • Ensures all service equipment is operating correctly and reports needed repairs to the Venue Manager or Designate. 
  • Required to work outdoor Catered Events, Patio Service, Banquets, Special Events as directed. 
  • Performs various closing duties including ensuring their section is clean, supplies are stocked in their station as well as cleaning and maintain service areas in the kitchen.
  • At Golf Couse venues, specifically Legends on the Niagara and Whirlpool Golf Course, servers may be required to provide food and beverage from a Golf Course Beverage Cart or a stationary Banquet/Event Serving Station on the golf course, to patrons of these courses. 
  • Works in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act, First Aid, AGCO Regulations, Recycling Program, and established Policies and Procedures.
  • Provides guests with information regarding NPC Attractions and Events. 
  • Promotes a positive image of the Niagara Parks Commission. 
  • Provides quality customer service that meets NPC Standards.

  • What You'll Bring

  • Completion of a Secondary School Diploma and has the basic reading, writing and understanding of mathematical operations or the equivalent knowledge or experience.
  • Previous experience as a Server preferred.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service techniques.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple tables simultaneously.
  • Good organization skills.
  • Friendliness, tact and courtesy.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Smart Serve Certification required.
  • Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitary requirements.
  • Ability to operate electronic payment systems.
