Sala San Marco is one of Ottawa's most iconic event venues, home to unforgettable weddings, corporate events, galas, and cultural celebrations. From elegant ballroom receptions to vibrant community gatherings, our team is passionate about creating moments worth remembering and sharing.
We're looking for a creative, hands-on Marketing & Social Media Coordinator to help tell our story and bring the Sala San Marco experience to life.
The Role
As Marketing & Social Media Coordinator, you'll be the voice and visual storyteller of Sala San Marco. This role is perfect for someone who loves both strategy and being in the action. You'll attend events, capture high-quality photo and video content, and transform real moments into compelling marketing across digital platforms.
You'll work closely with the events and sales teams to showcase everything that makes Sala special, while maintaining a polished and consistent brand presence.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Campaign Execution
Plan and execute creative marketing campaigns promoting our event spaces, services, and signature events.
Develop marketing collateral including graphics, posters, digital assets, and event materials.
Manage the content calendar for weddings, corporate bookings, seasonal promotions, and special events.
Support email marketing initiatives including newsletters and promotional campaigns.
Monitor performance metrics and engagement to continuously improve strategy.
Social Media & Content Creation
Create, capture, and publish engaging content across Instagram, Facebook, and other relevant platforms.
Attend events on-site to capture high-quality photo and video content.
Design reels, short-form video, and promotional visuals.
Maintain a consistent, creative, and polished brand presence.
Manage promoted posts and event pages as needed.
Track analytics and provide reporting on performance and growth.
Website & Digital Presence
Create, collect, and maintain website content.
Work with external partners or web support to ensure the site remains current and aligned with brand standards.
Member & Community Engagement
Collaborate with the events and sales teams to highlight real client experiences.
Support outreach initiatives and relationship-building within the community.
Assist in promotional efforts for large-scale events, galas, and community functions.
Event Support
Attend key events for marketing coverage.
Assist with on-site coordination support when needed.
Act as a liaison between creative partners and internal teams.
What We're Looking For
Experience in marketing, social media, or content creation, ideally in events, hospitality, or a creative industry.
Strong skills in photography, video creation, and editing tools (Adobe Suite, Canva, or similar).
Knowledge of social media strategy, engagement growth, and analytics.
Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp or Constant Contact.
Basic understanding of SEO and digital marketing best practices.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable working flexible hours including evenings and weekends when events are taking place.
Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
A genuine passion for events, people, and creating memorable experiences.
French is considered an asset.
