Border Security Officer

As a Border Patrol Agent, you play a vital role in maintaining the security and integrity of our nation's borders.

• Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration laws to prevent them from entering or remaining in the country without authorization.

1. Patrolling assigned areas along the international border between ports of entry using various types of vehicles including ATVs, boats, bicycles, and on foot. You will also be responsible for working at interior checkpoints that are strategically located throughout the U.S., where you'll conduct inspections of people, vehicles, and cargo traveling through these areas.​​
2. You must have excellent observation skills to detect signs of smuggling activity such as unusual luggage handling procedures, vehicles containing large amounts of goods not consistent with passenger load , |Suspicious behavior when approaching inspecting passengers. These observations require attention to detail combined with solid analytical thinking abilities.

   

   ￴What this entails is having knowledge about common methods used by smugglers – plus understanding how easily certain items could be concealed within loads. Your keen eye helps identify potential risks before they become serious issues!
