- The primary responsibility of this role includes detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration laws. Additionally, you will prevent and apprehend aliens and smugglers at or near the borders.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. However, many Border Patrol Agents have college degrees in various fields such as law enforcement, international relations or related areas.
- Certification/Licensure: Federal Law Enforcement Training Program certification is necessary upon completion. Maintaining physical fitness standards by passing regular tests throughout your career is also essential for success in this position.
