The Software Project Manager is responsible for, in conjunction with external clients and the internal functional teams, the establishment and negotiation of concise and clear software deliverable content with realistic delivery timeframes, and within established budgetary constraints, as well as being responsible for managing more than one client and/or project simultaneously.

Essential Functions of the position include, but are not limited to;
Ensures that customers' commitments are addressed and met on a timely basis.
Analyzes and communicates a customer's business needs prioritizing the user/shopper experience, challenging the status quo, and demonstrating the value of our solutions, and being able to relay this effectively to the appropriate internal project teams by writing concise and clear software functional and system requirements (FRS).
Facilitates Project Teams with regular meetings (on-site, hybrid, and remote), actively engages in knowledge sharing and collaboration, and fosters an inclusive team spirit. Establishes project, budgets and status reporting, and provides regular project and financial health updates for each project.
Ensures comprehensive, shareable, and reusable project/product documentation (including Azure DevOps Wikis and technical/customer-facing documents).
Develops and maintains release delivery forecasts.
Validates client IT infrastructure, targets platform system software and configurations.
Creates, monitors, and manages Statements of Work (SOW), engineering change requests, project risks, milestones, work assignments, and release forecasts.
Facilitates regular project/product demos which include customers and all stakeholders of the product.
Responsible for Release Management activities in Azure DevOps.
Travels to customer and company locations for meetings as well as attends trades shows.
Customarily and regularly exercises independent discretion and judgment.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Adheres to company policies, safety, and quality.
Supports continual improvement efforts and recommends novel ways to improve processes, tooling, and technologies, and effectively utilizes GenAI tools. Makes recommendations to reduce costs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May oversee the some aspects of other employees' work as well as train and coach on specific activities within a project.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Technical Skills
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional and Microsoft Project tools for creating project plans and schedules.
Advanced experience with the project management of software and new product introduction projects.
Advanced experience with Waterfall, Agile and hybrid methodologies.
Advanced negotiation/client-facing skills.
Advanced experience in project risk assessment/management in software development projects.
Advanced experience managing software project teams.
Advanced knowledge of Azure DevOps for managing release content, tracking content and bugs, building metrics and boards, etc.
Required Soft Skills
Comfortable working in a deadline oriented, multitasking, professional environment.
Able to coordinate functional department's project resources such as work assignments, schedules, customer requirements interpretation, etc.
Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with situations where information is difficult to obtain, complex or ambiguous.
Capable of analyzing client business needs in order to write clear and concise detailed functional requirements specifications documentation, considering the point of view of the user, shopper, attendant, customer, etc.
Able negotiator to discuss scheduling and content with clients in line with resource availability and bandwidth within the team.
Strong desire to succeed and ability to work in a team environment, focused on timely and quality delivery within defined budgetary targets.
Excellent French and English communication skills, both written and oral.
Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers.
Ability to work independently (and with limited supervision) while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and departments at all levels within the organization.
High degree of initiative and ownership and the discipline to follow through on assigned tasks

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or equivalent mix of education and relevant work experience required; 4 - 6 years of project management experience in complex software development projects.
Experience with working within a structured hybrid software development life cycle.
Intermediate knowledge of Self-Checkout/Point-of-Sale retail systems is a plus.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
PMP Certification is not mandatory but a definite asset.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Demonstrate at an advanced level the ability to read, comprehend, and respond appropriately through written or verbal form in English and at an intermediate level, French when required; ability to demonstrate tactfulness when communicating, to include internal communication with staff members of all levels; ability to effectively communicate with a variety of audiences. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Demonstrate ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as project variances and margins, discounts and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY
Demonstrate ability to effectively apply common sense and follow through to daily tasks; demonstrate ability to work with little or no supervision; demonstrate excellent analytical skills; demonstrate ability to efficiently conduct research. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions with several abstract and concrete variables.
