The Physiotherapist provides physiotherapy consultation, assessment and intervention to children with movement dysfunction related to neurological, musculoskeletal or cardiorespiratory conditions. This position will support Physiotherapy providing weekend cardiorespiratory physiotherapy coverage to inpatients within an acute rehabilitation framework.
Here's What You'll Get To Do
Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy clinical assessments of pediatric patients.
Develop evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each child's specific needs, taking into account their medical history and developmental stage.
Provide therapeutic interventions to improve cardiorespiratory function through both passive and active techniques including mobility.
Collaborate closely with other healthcare disciplines to ensure coordinated care.
Educate and support parents and caregivers on exercises and strategies to support their child's physical progress.
Maintain detailed, accurate and timely patient records and documentation.
Stay up to date with the latest research and best practices in pediatric acute care rehabilitation, including physiotherapy assessment and treatment.
Provide ethnically and culturally sensitive and inclusive care to a diverse patient population.
Participate in weekend cardiorespiratory physiotherapy coverage.
Here's What You'll Need
Masters degree in Physiotherapy (MScPT) or equivalent
Registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
Previous experience in a pediatric and/or acute healthcare setting preferred
Previous experience in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy assessment and treatment preferred
Ability to collaborate effectively as a member of the health care team and to take initiative and leadership when appropriate
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Demonstrate the ability to use critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and efficient time management
Belief in lifelong learning and evidence-based practice
Understand the importance of and demonstrate the ability to foster a culture of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.

Employment Type: Range of opportunities available - one shift per month (Casual employment) up to 1 shift per weekend (0.2FTE), depending on availability
