About the Job
- You will be responsible for detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration laws.
- You will inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
- You will prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near the borders by maintaining surveillance from covert positions.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess one year of general work experience that demonstrates their ability to take charge, make sound decisions, maintain composure in stressful situations; learn regulations, methods techniques through classroom training on-the-job instruction gather concise information through questioning observation examination documents records. OR hold a bachelor degree completion full four-year course study any field leading bachelor degree accredited college university combination these two requirements may also apply. The GL-7 grade level requires specialized work experience making judgments decisions use firearms dealing effectively with people courteous manner law enforcement matters analyzing information rapidly prompting decisions arrest after required training applying skills law enforcement capacity criminal code enforcement determining violation laws correctional rehabilitation work involving offenders security military etc.The GL-7 education substitution includes holding a bachelors degree superior academic achievement GPA 3.0 higher out possible related graduate-level education field study such as justice homeland security systems forensic technology psychology corrections rehabilitation etc
