We are looking for a dedicated Material Handler to join our bustling warehouse in Chicago, Illinois! As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our facility. Your responsibilities will include moving, organizing, and staging materials, loading and unloading trucks, and assisting with inventory control. This role is vital for maintaining efficient Logistics operations. The ideal candidate is physically capable, possesses a strong work ethic, and is committed to upholding high standards of Safety . This position involves significant physical activity, including regular Lifting of up to 55 pounds, and operating various material handling equipment. Strict adherence to all safety protocols and the mandatory use of appropriate PPE are expected. Experience with forklifts and pallet jacks is a plus. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and stage incoming materials.
- Transport inventory to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment.
- Assist with inventory counts and maintaining accurate records.
- Organize warehouse space to ensure efficient workflow and storage.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure correct and consistent use of all required PPE .
- Perform routine inspections of material handling equipment.
- Contribute to the overall effectiveness of our Logistics operations.
- Assist with packing and preparing outgoing shipments.
- Perform tasks requiring manual Lifting and physical dexterity.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role preferred.
- Ability to perform consistent Lifting of up to 55 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and basic Logistics principles.
- Strong commitment to workplace Safety and compliance.
- Willingness to wear and use all necessary PPE .
- Reliable and punctual with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment checks is a plus.
