About
Our growing logistics operation in Houston, Texas is looking for an organized and efficient Receiving Clerk. This position is fundamental to our warehouse's success, ensuring that all incoming goods are processed accurately and promptly. You will be responsible for verifying deliveries against purchase orders, inspecting items for quality and damage, documenting all received inventory using our WMS, and preparing items for internal movement or storage. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills are a must. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the smooth flow of products through our supply chain. Safety is paramount in our warehouse; therefore, strict adherence to all safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE and safe lifting practices, is mandatory. This role involves standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs. The ideal candidate is reliable, proactive, and works well independently and as part of a team. - Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments.
- Inspect goods for any damage or discrepancies.
- Accurately record all received items in the Warehouse Management System.
- Label and tag incoming inventory as required.
- Stage received materials for put-away or further processing.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments regarding shipments.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Follow all company safety policies and wear necessary PPE.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and audits.
- Implement safe lifting procedures for all materials handled.
