System Safety is responsible for ensuring our products are safe for the customer to use in any environment that they are needed.
We work from the start of a program through its full life cycle.
Our input in the design phase are critical to ensuring the end user is safe while using our product.
What You Will Do:
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Principal System Safety Engineer to join us on the Air and Space team in Aurora Colorado.
As a Principal System Safety Engineer , your responsibilities will include:
Analysis of engineering hardware, mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics assessing for fault tolerance, latent hazards, and safety requirements compliance.
Work with system test and tactical operation and maintenance procedures to ensure the proper administrative system safety controls are in place.
Work across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls.
Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal backgrounds
Performing System Safety Program or Design analyses
Working with a large system safety program or multiple mid-sized safety programs, including:
Monitoring program technical execution,
Interfacing with stakeholders (e.g. customers, program offices, subcontractors, vendors)
Preparing Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for Customer Approval
Briefing safety of the program at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process
Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards
Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program
Collaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture and design

Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically Requires: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant Systems Engineering or Safety Engineering experience . An advanced degree may
